We as dealers have a critical role to carry out in the industry’s pipeline, as we fill a gap between producers and manufacturers. Major mining companies allocate goods to a limited number of customers because many are too small or too specialized to have a sightholder status. Small units nonetheless need to be adequately supported, as they represent an essential segment of the industry, and are key to its continuation and growth. The primary producer cannot always be synchronized with market conditions. These are regulated by dealers such as ourselves that take on the burden of properly and timely passing on the rough.
IDH was the cornerstone to setting up marketing arms from scratch for world class mines. It is not a coincidence if the most prominent new diamond producers of the last two decades chose IDH to guide them in the intricacies of marketing run-of-mine. It was based on both our knowledge and skills as diamond dealers and the ability to transfer this expertise to highly audited corporations.
