IDH in India

IDH Diamonds
has sales office in Mumbai and in Surat in order to respond to small
manufacturers. A considerable part of the Indian cutting and polishing
activity occurs along a cottage industry model, composed of a constellation
of small but efficient businesses. Whilst their financial means
and marketing ability has inherent limitations, their control on
yield and quality allows them to flourish, especially when processing
small and cheap material, where skills are critical.
Mr. C.
Dinesh Shah (see picture) runs our Indian branch offices. He is
a long standing, respected and skilled diamantaire with a flawless
reputation. He manages to seamlessly merge the IDH standards with
the traditional Indian practices.
The purpose
of our Indian sales offices is not to duplicate Antwerp, but to
broaden our market along a downstream perspective, and target a
different layer of customers. We are channeling a wide range of
goods through our sales offices, from traditional Indian material
up to better goods.
As the
Indian labor cost is competitive and is combined with advanced technologies,
the industry is able to successfully process high quality diamonds
as well as cheap material.
Sorting
matches market requirement. Assortments are offered to our customers
along accurately predefined price points for every size and quality.
